PicSelec helps people make decisions about photographs. Its wedding selection workflow is different from its photo-analysis features, so the same storage explanation does not apply to every service. Here are the practical distinctions before you upload or share anything.
Does everyone need an account?
The host needs to sign in to create a wedding selection session. Invited participants can join using the invitation link and PIN without creating an account. A wedding session supports up to four people.
For hosting and importing a photo folder, desktop Chrome or Edge is recommended. Participants can make selections in a mobile browser. File and folder access support varies between browsers, so hosting is not identical on every phone. The current wedding-session image limit is 4,000. It is a limit, not a challenge.
Does PicSelec edit the photographs?
Selection states and retouching tags help you organize decisions and describe requests. They do not perform the retouching or automatically submit an order to your photographer. Export the results and use the photographer’s agreed submission process. Keep the original filenames and a separate copy of your original files.
It also does not automatically import any photographer’s private gallery simply because you have its URL. Use the files and access rights your photographer has provided. If the original gallery already meets your needs, staying there may be simpler.
Where are the photos stored?
In a shared wedding session, photographs are encrypted on the device before server storage. The invitation uses secret information in the link together with a PIN. Treat both carefully; encryption is not a reason to post the invitation publicly.
Wedding sessions have a seven-day retention period. Do not treat them as a permanent photo archive or assume each later upload restarts that period. Save your selection results before expiry. The service cannot recall copies that a participant has independently saved or captured.
What about photo analysis and personal color?
Our Photo analysis and Personal Color comparisons run on the device. Our Photo also has a separate result-link sharing action: choosing it creates encrypted shared data on the server. That is why “nothing ever leaves your device” would be an inaccurate description of the entire product.
An undetermined analysis is not a verdict on the people in the photo. Try another photograph if the image does not provide enough usable information. Personal Color is a beta comparison experience, not a substitute for a definitive professional in-person assessment.
Where should I check current details?
The product guide and privacy page take precedence over a remembered blog paragraph when the service changes. If you report a problem, include the device, browser and steps, but leave out private invitation keys and PINs. “It broke” is a beginning; “it broke after this button” gives us a map.
