Wedding Photo Proofing as a Couple: What to Do When You Don't Pick the Same Favorites

Client proofing — where your photographer sends the gallery and you flag which shots get final edits or go in the album — puts control in your hands. The catch is that most proofing galleries (Pixieset, Pic-Time, and similar) are built around one person favoriting photos, not two people comparing picks side by side.

In practice that usually means one of two things happens: you both sit at the same laptop and go photo-by-photo together (slow, and whoever's holding the trackpad ends up deciding more than they meant to), or one of you does the whole gallery alone and the other just says "looks good" without really looking.

A cleaner way: judge separately, then only resolve the differences. If you each go through the full gallery on your own time and mark pick / hold / cut, you end up with three groups automatically — photos you both picked, photos you both cut, and photos where you disagreed. That third group is usually a small fraction of the gallery, and it's the only part that actually needs a real conversation.
